Castle Comfort Stairlifts Review by Joy WillisFrom making a query on line to the full completion of work was just 2 weeks - and then it was because we wanted carpet first. They arranged everything and did the electrics, moved the banister and installed the stair lift. Staff were lovely. All queries answered. So professional. We needed a stair lift as we have family and friends who have difficulties with mobility and we only have an upstairs toilet. Problem solved. We have already recommended this service and provider. Thanks Keith and team xxx Great job. Can't wait to show my mum at Christmas when she stays with us.

Some stairlift facts from Castle Comfort Stairlifts

1) New and used stairlifts in Stoke on Trent and the wider area can be put in within an hour and with no damage at all to your furnishings or wallpaper.
2) All our models are surprisingly affordable. You can go for a new one or a reconditioned stairlift and with a small deposit today you can secure an independent future for yourself or a loved one.
3) The stair lift folds away neatly to the wall, so it's barely noticeable, in fact some people send it back up the stairs with the remote control so it's completely out of sight. Using it is easy. A flick of a finger, thumb or hand is enough to set you going in the right way.

You will always be protected with a guaranteed 24 hour warranty for at least a year. An option to extend this is available for up to 5 years, for ultimate peace of mind.

Most local people will have read the Sentinel or visited the Haywood Hospital where we had a stall in the outpatients for many years, and so will already be familiar with our name. If you have read any of our customer reviews you will see that you too can get the perfect one to meet your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

+Who is eligible for a free stairlift in Stoke on Trent? There are different organisations and charities that may provide financial assistance or funding for individuals with physical disabilities or elderly people that need one but cannot currently afford one. These organisations base their eligibility on a range of factors such as age, disability type, and financial situation. It is recommended to research and contact local government or charitable organizations to determine their eligibility criteria for a free stairlift or you could try contacting Social Care at Stoke City Council whose contact details are below. You can begin the process of applying for a Disabled Facilities Grant by contacting Stoke City Council Social Care. An assessment will aim to provide equipment to help people move around and live in their own homes more independently, such as hand rails, bathing equipment, hoists, stairlifts or ramps. For advice about services available and to start the assessment process, telephone:0800 561 0015 or email:social.care@stoke.gov.uk
+What is the average cost of a stair lift in the UK? The average cost of a stairlift in the UK can vary depending on the type and complexity of the stairs. However, a basic straight stairlift could cost from around £1,300 to £3,400 depending on the model and whether any extras are needed, whereas a curved one could cost around £3,500 to £6,000 or more. Additionally, there may also be additional extended maintenance plans that may be additional cost options.
+Are Your Stoke-on-Trent Stairlifts Battery Powered? Nowadays all stairlifts are powered by rechargeable batteries that enable you to use the stairlift even during power outages, provide a smoother ride, and have a lower risk of wiring and electrical issues than the early models that plugged directly into the mains. There is no need for extensive wiring or unsightly modifications to your home's electrical system and the cost is a few pence per day.
+Can A Stairlift Be Fitted On Narrow Stairs In A Terraced House in Stoke on Trent? Yes, a stairlift can be fitted on narrow stairs in a terraced house in the local area. For many years one of our demonstration stairlifts was sited in a terraced property next door to our main showroom in Newcastle under Lyme as it is one of the commonest installations we get asked for. However, the specific dimensions of the stairs and the available space will need to be assessed by a surveyor before determining the best type of stairlift for your needs. Some stairlift manufacturers offer slimline or compact models that are specially designed for narrow staircases, but it is important to ensure that the chosen model is suitable for the user who will be riding it each day and also for the specific stair layout.
+Is it better to rent or buy a stairlift? Renting a stairlift - Cost: A rental stairlift can be a less expensive option upfront, as you generally pay a smaller upfront amount as a deposit and then after so many months grace you can pay a monthly fee on a pay as you go basis. - Flexibility: Renting provides flexibility to use the stairlift for a short-term period, such as recovery from surgeries, injury rehabilitation or a temporary or life limiting medical condition. - Maintenance: Renting a stairlift also means you do not have to worry about maintenance and repair costs, as it is a total package that includes that as standard.
+Buying a stairlift. - Long-term financial benefits: Although buying a lift can be more expensive upfront, it can save you money in the long term. You will own the stairlift and not have recurring monthly payments. - Home Value: Investing in a stairlift or a through floor lift is also an investment in the value of your home. A lift of any kind can make your home more accessible and desirable to a wider range of potential buyers if you choose to sell in the future. Ultimately, the decision to rent or buy depends on your unique situation, such as the duration of use, budget, and future plans for you and your home.
+Are 2nd Hand stairlifts safe? Reconditioned or refurbished second-hand stairlifts can definitely be safe if they are from a current manufacturer and are properly maintained and installed. It is recommended to purchase from a reputable seller like ourselves and to have a certified and qualified engineer put the lift in and to service it. However, it is important to note that older models available on marketplace or other online sites may not meet current safety standards and may require upgrades or replacement parts to ensure safe operation. There is no guarantees with a private second hand purchase of an obsolete model with components that may be difficult to source or even no longer be available to buy. We would never recommend sacrificing a family members safety on their stairs to save them a few hundred pounds.

Castle Comfort Stairlifts Review by Simon GallagherMrs Gallagher also took the time to call us, she can be heard in the video clips at the bottom of this page.

"Having tried the 'usual suspects' (Acorn and Stannah) who in fairness provided an excellent pitch for the urgently needed stair lift for my mother (100 years old in August 2019), I needed a third option to help make the correct choice.
Enter Castle Comfort Stairlifts - to get my call answered on a Saturday by the owner Keith was a good start, to get the most competitive quote from photographs and a short conversation was even better!
The installation was next and we didn't need to wait too long before what had been promised a week earlier came to fruition and my mother was safely moving up and down the stairs, a huge relief to her 7 'children' and 22 grandchildren - 5 stars for value, for customer service and for the whole experience."
